The documentary Troop 1500 examines a unique Girl Scout troop that is part of a program aimed at encouraging incarcerated parents to maintain close relationships with their children. The film explores the struggles of five daughters growing up without their mothers while trying to balance the responsibilities of every day life. Conversely, the film presents the perspective of the mothers, struggling to repair the broken relationships with their daughters while serving lengthy jail sentences in Gatesville, Texas’ Hilltop Prison.
