WETA Arts | New Episode in May

This episode is now available to watch online.

WETA Arts continues this month tying fantastic local cultural arts to national arts.

In May's episode of WETA Arts we visit the U.S. Army Museum Support Center at Ft. Belvoir to learn about the depiction of war through the eyes of artists and to meet the current Army Artist in Residence. Experts from Ohio State University give us the science behind the most spectacular leap in ballet, the grande jete. We meet The Colorado Ballet, a troupe endeavoring to explore one of the darkest periods in human history through dance. We delve into the work of JW Johnston, a nature photographer who left the fast-paced world of broadcast journalism to pursue his passion. Finally, Robert Aubry Davis, Janis Goodman, and Peter Winant discuss "Made in The USA", an exhibition at The Phillips Collection that spans more than a century and features works by nearly one hundred and twenty American artists.
