Monday at 9pm tune in for the first two episodes of Midsomer Murders season2! First at 9pm “Death’s Shadow”. Soon after successful theatrical director Simon Fletcher is diagnosed with a brain tumor, a property developer in the village is savagely murdered. Barnaby and Detective Sergeant Troy investigate the crime, trying to discover if it was motivated by ill-feeling in the village about his plans for property development or some longer buried secrets. Then at 10:30pm
10:30pmon “Strangler’s Wood”, the body of a young Brazilian woman is found strangled with a tie in a forest where three similar murders occurred several years before. Barnaby manages to solve both the new murders and the old ones, though not before the murder of yet another victim.
Tuesday at 9pm tune in for the first two episodes of Doc Martin season 2! First at 9pm “Old Dogs”, Dr. Martin Ellingham is still as clumsy as ever when it comes to forming relationships with the opposite sex. Just when things are beginning to look rosily romantic between him and pretty school teacher Louisa Glasson, he makes a terrible faux pas. She can't forgive him for accusing her of failing in her dental hygiene regime. Then at 9:45pm “In Loco”, Louisa is nervously awaiting an interview for promotion to head teacher of Portwenn Primary School, and she's anxious to make a good impression. But the odds seem to be stacked against her. Dr. Ellingham is on the board of governors, and she's not sure she can count on his vote.
Wednesday at 8am catch season 6 episode 1 of All Creatures Great and Small. In the
episode, “Here and There”, James meets Basil Courtney, a cowhand for a local farmer. Basil has worked in a circus, been a teacher, has knowledge of art and a nose for good wine! James is intrigued until he discovers that Basil has not been giving the farmer's calves their treatment and, as a result, they are showing no signs of improvement. Then at 9am stay on WETA UK for Born and Bred season 2 episode 1. In the new series sees a new set of problems for the father-and-son practice, and delves further into the lives of the villagers, including some highly amusing incidents.
Thursday at 10pm Dalziel and Pascoe begin the two part mystery “Secrets of the Dead”. Watch part 2 next Thursday July 17 at 10pm! Dalziel is in the small Yorkshire village of Stenby, attending the funeral of Fran Lock, the district nurse. When the local solicitor is found murdered, Dalziel investigates (without the help of Pascoe, who is off to Florida to
visit his wife and daughter).
Friday at 7:30pm start the fantastic British comedy My Family from the very first episode! Dad, Ben is a dentist struggling to understand his wife Susan the terrible cook, daughter Janey the selfish shopping addict, youngest son Michael the brain, and eldest son Nick the lazy goof.
Although loving and caring parents, Ben and Susan have a little trouble showing their children these true intentions since the kids are always up to something.
Saturday at 11am catch the first episode of the sci-fi, cult classic Red Dwarf! A radiation leak wipes out the crew of the mining ship Red Dwarf, leaving only one survivor – chicken soup machine repair man, Dave Lister. After three million years in suspended animation, Lister emerges to find he is the last human being in the universe but he is not alone. The crew begin to experience visions from their own future and Lister’s appears to include being reduced to his component atoms by a rather large explosion.
Sunday at 8pm catch the WETA UK premiere of Brazil with Michael Palin. In episode 1, “Out of Africa”, Michael Palin’s Brazilian odyssey begins in the North East where modern Brazil was born. He starts in the city of Sao Luis before traveling down the coast to Recife and Salvador, dropping in on the vaqueros Brazilian Cowboys who work on vast cattle ranches. His travels also take him south to the stunning coastal lagoons of the Lencois Maranhenses national park. In Salvador he learns to drum with the famous Olodum School and has a lesson in how to cook Bahian-style before finding out what lies behind the beguiling moves of Capoeria dancers.
