Monday at 10:30pm begin season 3 of Ashes to Ashes. This is the final season of the thrilling drama so be sure to tune in as we conclude this viewer favorite. The show finally unravels many of the mysteries from the previous two seasons as well as those first experienced by the initial time-travelling copper, Sam Tyler, in the groundbreaking series Life on Mars.

Tuesday at 8:00pm experience season 2 of the popular costume drama that everyone’s talking about: Masterpiece Classic Downton Abbey. Repeats Wednesday at 3:00pm

Wednesday at 8:00pm join Inspector Morse for the mystery Deceived By Flight. Morse and Sgt. Lewis investigate the apparent suicide of an old acquaintance of Morse, who happens to be a member of the Clarets XI cricket team. When Lewis is sent in to work undercover, a second man is murdered and Lewis himself is attacked. Repeats Thursday at 3:00pm & Saturday at 5:30pm

Thursday at 8:00pm watch the great Sherlock Holmes solve the crime of The Dancing Men. Holmes and Watson investigate mysterious drawings outside the estate of Mr. Cubitt, whose American wife has been acting very odd since they appeared.

Friday from 3:00pm – 5:00pm laugh through the first four episodes of the modern comedy My Family season 2.

 

Saturday at 9:00pm tune in for the first two hours of Garrow’s Law season 2. Garrow argues the case when 133 Africans are thrown overboard from a slave ship and Garrow takes a capital case involving a man accused of sodomy. Repeats Sunday beginning at 1:00pm

 

Sunday from 8:00pm – 10:00pm enjoy the best of British comedies! Yes, Minister, Miranda, BlackAdder, and Mr. Bean back-to-back! Don’t let the idea of returning to work tomorrow ruin your night, laugh along side these great comedies and finish off your weekend strong.

This sketch-based, slapstick comedy show starring Benny Hill is a classic British comedy. Benny appears in many different costumes and portrays a vast array of characters. 

 

Downton Abbey Season 1

Premieres Wednesday January 2 at 3:00pmTwo back-to-back episodes Wednesdays at 3:00pm

Set in the Yorkshire country estate of Downton Abbey, this period drama depicts the lives of the aristocratic Crawley family and their servants in the post-Edwardian era — with the great events in history having an effect on their lives and the British social hierarchy in general. 

 

DCI Banks

Premieres Wednesday January 2 at 9:00pm | Airs Wednesdays at 9:00pm

Tenacious and stubborn Chief Inspector Alan Banks and the feisty and headstrong Detective Sergeant Annie Cabbot combine drama, crime, and thrill in this series. 

 

Sherlock Holmes & Agatha Christie’s Poirot                 

Premieres Thursday January 3 at 8:00pm | Sherlock & Poirot air back-to-back Thursdays at 8:00pm

The classic 1980s version starring Jeremy Brett and David Burke moves from WETA TV26 & HD to WETA UK Thursdays at 8:00pm. Agatha Christie’s Poirot starring David Suchet also moves to WETA UK airing Thursdays at 9:00pm

 

The Café

Premieres Friday January 4 at 8:00pm | Airs Fridays at 8:00pm

Three generations of a family host customers at their seafront cafe in this warm and funny comedy series. Sarah moves back home from London, having lost her boyfriend and her job, so she's helping out her mum Carol at the café. Returning home has its pluses and minuses, find out how Sarah handles them in this comedy series. 

 

Primeval Season 1

Premieres Monday January 7 at 4:00pm | Airs Mondays at 4:00pm

This series is returning to WETA UK! When evolutionary zoologist Nick Cutter discovers prehistoric creatures alive and well in the present day, the natural world is turned on its head and humanity faces a threat to its very existence. Unexplained anomalies are ripping holes in the fabric of time, allowing creatures from the very earliest stages of Earth's development to roam the modern world. Cutter and his team struggle to keep the looming disaster secret while dealing with savage dinosaurs and other deadly foes. 

 

Vera I     

Premieres Monday January 7 at 9:00pm | Airs Mondays at 9:00pm

Chief Inspector Vera Stanhope is an experienced and brilliant murder investigator in North East England. Kind-hearted but an inherent loner, Vera freely admits she can become obsessed with her job; driven by her own demons, the detective faces the world with sarcastic wit, guile, and courage. (Vera II begins Monday January 28)

 

Life of Mammals

Premieres Tuesday January 8 at 4:30pm | Airs Tuesdays at 4:30pm

David Attenborough introduces us to the most diverse group of animals ever to live on Earth, from the smallest to the largest. This is the story of 4,000 species which have outlived the dinosaurs and conquered the farthest places on earth, dry or wet, hot or cold. 

 

The WETA UK Event: The Complete Garrow’s Law          

Premieres Saturday January 12 at 8:00pm | Airs Saturdays at 8:00pm 

Garrow's Law is a legal period drama depicting William Garrow, who acted as counsel for the accused, introducing the concept of 'innocent until proved guilty' at London's Old Bailey in the 18th century.

Outnumbered Christmas Special 2011 Can’t a family go on a holiday vacation without some kind of mishap ruining it? The Brockmans are planning to fly out to the Canaries on Christmas day but thanks to a dentist, Grandpa, an immature house-sitter, traffic, and two fighting Santas, this family might not make it to the islands after all.

To the Manor Born In this special seasonal episode, it is Audrey’s first Christmas away from the manor but she is not going to let deVere take away her one remaining duty. So when she cannot find the Holy Crib for the Church, she decides to make one of her own, with the help of Marjory and Ned. Meanwhile, Richard plans to do his duty in style. The poor Rector has to choose between Audrey’s home-made monstrosity or Richard’s crassly commercial model.

Mr. Bean celebrates the holidays in Merry Christmas, Mr. Bean! Mr. Bean is very excited that it is Christmas so he befriends a Salvation Army band then drives home with the tallest tree he can find. On Christmas Day there are plenty of surprises under the tree but the gift he gives to his girlfriend is not what she had hoped for, and she leaves him all alone. Even so, Mr. Bean's holiday season ends with a bang. Airs Sunday, December 23 at 9:30pm.

Gareth Blackstock, chef at the prestigious restaurant Le Chateau Anglais, takes great pains to set the most exacting standards for his kitchen staff, but they show their gratitude by bending or breaking the rules whenever they can. Although every single one of Gareth's meals is a masterpiece, some customers still have the nerve to ask for salt. His beautiful wife, Janice, lacks Gareth's enthusiasm; bored being a neglected housewife she'd rather go back to her high-powered job in finance. Gareth dreams of being head chef and proprietor of his own restaurant, but a few obstacles - like no money - stand in his way. With Janice's patient help, he overcomes the bank manager's doubts and qualifies for a loan. Suddenly, ownership brings exposure to the harsh realities of restaurant management... Tuesday take a journey into a historic British estate filled with one man’s treasures from his many adventures on Country House Revealed: Clandeboye House at 8:00pm. Clandeboye House and estate is incredible and surprisingly little has changed since owner Lord Dufferin died in 1902. The house is overflowing with relics from the empire and Dufferin's aristocratic ventures - stuffed baby bears, Egyptian monuments, tiger skins and weaponry from India, Canada and Burma to mention just a few.

Tuesday at 11:00pm catch the launch of series 6 Are You Being Served?

 

Wednesday Inspector Morse begins a new adventure with Promised Land part 1 of 2. Morse and Lewis go to Australia in search of a witness who has been in witness protection for ten years, but this is one witness who really doesn't want to be found.

 

Thursday at 7:00pm series 15 Last of the Summer Wine begins! Get in on the laughs, no need to have watched from series 1, start anytime!

Thursday live the high life with David Attenborough’s Life of Mammals: Life in the Trees at 8:00pm. These mammals have adapted to a life at height. Since one third of the world's surface is still covered by forest, animals such as the hyrax, tamanduas, and flying squirrel have developed skills to thrive in these high up conditions.

Sunday catch the second to last episode of Primeval at 9:00pm. Still reeling from Stephen's death and with the depth of Helen's betrayal now revealed, Nick Cutter must fight to re-focus his embattled team. Cutter's crew are joined by some new recruits in the form of maverick policeman Danny Quinn, sparky Egyptologist Sarah Page, and the new leader of the ARC's security forces Captain Becker. But as the anomalies continue to present an unrelenting series of threats, the task in hand seems almost insurmountable. It's not just deadly creatures the team has to contend with, they also face a threat to the future of not just the ARC but of mankind itself.
