Monday at 8:00pm tune in to WETA UK for the first part of a new Foyle’s War mystery, Plan of Attack. It’s April 1944 and when shots are fired outside Hastings police station killing DCS Meredith. Christopher Foyle must put aside his memoirs and return to his old job. This episode is the first of Foyle’s War season 6. Watch the trailer!

Tuesday at 7:30pm start watching May to December with season 3! A balding Scottish solicitor in his mid-50s and an attractive gym-mistress half his age fall in love despite plenty of conflicting advice from family and friends. 

Wednesday at 11:00pm begin Hustle from the very first episode of season 1. Con artist Mickey Stone is fresh out of jail. His marriage is on the rocks, but he has a strong family to fall back on. That family – Albert and Ash, two old-timers and beautiful, street-sharp Stacie – are his partners in crime. Coming together to perform one last con, they hook up with young blood Danny Blue, a rookie with the makings of a master. Thursday at 10:00pm settle in for the first episode of Waking the Dead season 6. The award-winning, edge-of-your-seat spy drama is a white-knuckle ride through the perilous world of deadly terrorists, international cover-ups and treacherous double-agents.

Friday at 8:00pm have you been watching Ladies of Letters? This gentle comedy drama is about two very different widows who forge a friendship through letters, each letter attempting to out-do the other. Watch the trailer!

Saturday at 8:00pm continue watching the WETA UK Event: The Complete Prime Suspect! This week watch four episodes back-to-back. Watch the trailer!

Monday at 7:30pm begin season 2 of the hearty series Fresh Fields. Hester and William Fields are bored empty nesters. William is an accountant and Hester does random things around town including taking care of her elderly mother and gossiping with her neighbor Sonia. Stars: Julia McKenzie (Miss Marple, Return to Cranford), Anton Rodgers (May to December). Also airs throughout the week.

Tuesday at 7:30pm catch the first episode of May to December season 2. Two unlikely people find a mutual love of old musicals humor sparking a romance surprising much more than just themselves. Stars: Anton Rodgers (Fresh Fields), Frances White (I, Claudius). Also airs throughout the week. 

Wednesday at 11:00pm continue the action and humor of Hustle. Master con-man Mickey Bricks and his team of talented con artists have a very important rule: never con an honest man. So instead, they have lots of greedy enemies lined up for some of their boldest cons yet. Tough decisions and plenty of fun as the team goes head to head with some of the meanest, greediest people society has to offer. Stars: Adrian Lester, Robert Glenister (Prime Suspect), Robert Vaughn, Matt Di Angelo (EastEnders), and Kelly Adams.

Thursday at 8:00pm rekindle your love of Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes. This week, Holmes and Watson take on The Norwood Builder, when a notorious retiree is found murdered, his recently-named heir is the prime suspect. Also airs: Saturday at 2:00pm. Then at 9:30pm Hercule Poirot and Captain Hastings investigates the mystery Double Sin in Agatha Christie’s Poirot. A woman is robbed while delivering a set of antique Napoleon miniatures to an American collector. Poirot and Hastings set out to find the thief. Also airs: Saturday at 4:00pm.

Friday at 8:00pm get your warm-hearted laughs with The Café. Three generations of a family host customers at their seafront cafe in this warm and funny comedy series. Sarah moves back home from London, having lost her boyfriend and her job, so she's helping her mum Carol at the café. But returning home has its pluses and minuses. Also airs: Tuesday at 5:30pm.

Saturday at 9:30pm experience Masterpiece Contemporary: Framed. Based on the bestselling book by Frank Cottrell Boyce, when London's National Gallery accidentally floods, treasured paintings must be transferred to an abandoned slate mine in the Welsh countryside for safety. Curator Quentin Lester is secretly pleased to have the art all to himself but while away, he encounters a lineup of quirky neighbors causing Lester great concern. Stars: Trevor Eve (Waking the Dead) and Eve Myles (Little Dorrit). Also airs: Sunday at 1:30pm.

Sunday at 5:00pm kick off season 2 of Born and Bred! In season 1, Tom Gilder moved his wife Deborah and four children from the busy city of Manchester to rural Ormston to take on the responsibility of his father’s practice. Despite a few old versus new clashes, Tom quickly settled in and together they got the go-ahead to make the cottage hospital a success. In season two, get ready for a whole new set of problems for the father-and-son practice. Delve further into the lives of the villagers, including some highly amusing incidents. Stars: James Bolam, Michael French (EastEnders), and Clive Swift (Keeping up Appearances). Also airs throughout the week

Monday at 9:00pm Detective Chief Superintendent Christopher Foyle is on the case again! Foyle’s War: Casualties at War Part 1 is set in March of 1943. Between personal drama and work drama, a real case adds to the stress. A local man and gambler is found murdered near a military research center which is also the target of some internationally-funded saboteurs and Foyle enters the top secret arena of weapons research in his pursuit of the truth. Next door to Bernard's shop is the Nifty Gifty gift shop run by Fran, probably Bernard's only friend in the world. When Bernard's accountant goes on the run Bernard employs stress victim, Manny to help in his shop. This leads to a series of surreal adventures that are sure to have you laughing.

Happy holidays to all our WETA UK viewers! Here’s what’s happening in DC, MD, and VA this week on WETA UK’s schedule. There will be more British Christmas specials and new seasons to get ready for the New Year. Read on for our highlights in this week’s line-up!

 

Monday at 4:00pm Doctor Who is in the Christmas spirit! In Voyage of the Damned, it’s modern day Christmas Eve and high above the Earth, a spaceship is transporting voyagers from the planet Sto to experience the festive period on the planet below. The spaceship is themed in the style of the White Star Liner, RMS Titanic, and much of the ship’s décor resembles the famous ship. The Doctor joins the passengers on board and befriends a waitress, Astrid Peth. After a visit to London via the ship’s transmit system, the Doctor and Astrid return to the spacecraft just before it is hit by a meteor, causing severe damage and fatalities. The Doctor, Astrid and a band of survivors must travel across the ship to the Bridge to prevent the Titanic from crashing into the Earth. Meanwhile, the Heavenly Host (the on-board tourist information robots) are malfunctioning and killing the remaining survivors. Who will survive the voyage?

Wednesday at 9:30am dig into Christmas leftovers and Outnumbered season 3! In this first episode of season 3, Pete's Mother Sandra treats the family to sightseeing in London. Jake is not very happy, especially since he forgot to charge his phone and isn’ able to send text messages. Sandra tries to give Sue £3,000, to "help" with the children's education and explains how her marriage is "dead".

Wednesday at 3:00pm watch two back-to-back Doctor Who Christmas specials! The first episode, The Next Doctor is set Christmas Eve in 1851 and Cybermen stalk the snow of Victorian London. When the Doctor arrives and starts to investigate a spate of mysterious deaths, he’s surprised to meet another Doctor, with his own sonic screw driver and cockney assistant. How could this be possible? Could this Doctor be a future regeneration? But if so where are his memories? The two must combine forces to defeat the ruthless Miss Hartigan, who is the Cybermen’s human ally. But are two Doctors enough to stop the rise of the CyberKing?

Wednesday at 4:00pm watch Doctor Who, Planet of the Dead. The mysterious Lady Christina de Souza joins the Doctor on a bus-trip which takes a very unexpected detour into danger. Then Malcolm’s life becomes connected to the Doctor’s under extraordinary circumstances… When a London bus travels through a worm-hole to an alien world, the Doctor must join forces with the extraordinary Lady Christina to help the unfortunate passengers, and themselves, get back home.  But the mysterious planet holds terrifying secrets, hidden in the sand. And time is running out, as the deadly swarm gets closer…

 

Thursday at 8:00pm begin Rosemary & Thyme season 2! In season 2, horticultural lecturer Rosemary Boxer and former policewoman Laura Thyme venture further afield, with gardening commissions and restoration projects in the French Riviera and Italy's Ligurian coast, as well as in rural and urban England. The unobtrusive presence of the two gardeners at work gives them access to secrets other detectives might miss — and that murderers would rather not reveal. Thursday at 10:00pm begin season 4 of New Tricks. Amongst the many cases the team has to deal with in the fourth series, they head to the big top to investigate the murder of a circus owner and ringmaster, and look into the case of a rich old lady who loved her cats more than her relatives, leaving the cats all her money in her will.

 

Friday we hope you’re still in the holiday spirit because at 2:00pm catch the Good Neighbors Christmas special.
