New Call the Midwife Season 3 | WETA TV26 & HD

Season 3 of the hit British drama Call the Midwife premieres this Sunday, March 30 at 8pm on WETA TV26 & HD! This series is based on the best-selling memoirs of Jennifer Worth and follows the exciting lives of midwives and families in London’s East End. This new season takes place in 1959, the eve of the Swinging Sixties. Change permeates throughout the country and the residents of Nonnatus House face significant changes of their own. In episode one, Jenny struggles to remain caring for Merle Vickers and her two ill sons. Sister Monica Joan comes close to diagnosing the boys’ mystery illness while Chummy uses her royal connections for the official opening of the new ante-natal and baby clinic. American Masters: Salinger

In its 200th episode, the acclaimed biography series American Masters highlights the life and work of influential author J.D. Masterpiece Mystery! Sherlock Season 3 Premiere on WETA TV26

The game is on! A new trio of highly anticipated Sherlock cases premieres on Sunday, January 19 at 10:00 pm on WETA TV26 and WETA HD! Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman return to their acclaimed roles as master sleuth Sherlock Holmes and his partner, Dr. Watson. This contemporary reinvention of the Arthur Conan Doyle classic finds Holmes and Watson battling the worst the modern criminality has to offer in 21st century London. Holmes is a loner, oddball, genius, and his best and only friend, Dr. John Watson, is a retired military doctor wounded in Afghanistan. The Original House of Cards on WETA TV26, HD, UK

Independent Lens: How to Survive a Plague at 12am
In 1987, America was six years into the dark days of the AIDS epidemic, a crisis that government officials and health organizations were still ignoring. The battle against the outbreak transformed with the emergence of the activist group ACT UP in Greenwich Village, New York. Largely made up of HIV-positive individuals, ACT UP joined forces with TAG (Treatment Action Group) to raise awareness of the disease through a series of dramatic protests. This Week on WETA UK: October 28-November 3

Monday at 8:00pm watch Pie in the Sky as Henry undergoes a management training course after a fantastic review from a rigid food critic sends everything into an uproar. 

Tuesday at 8:00pm start watching Father Brown. The Church of Apollo has come Kembleford and Susie is drawn to their charismatic leader Kalon. Soon, Kalon's wife falls pray to murder and Father Brown must solve the mystery and restore order.

Wednesday at 9:00pm tune in for Masterpiece Mystery! Foyle's War: Killing Time. African American GIs stationed near Bristol find they are fighting against  intolerance and unwelcome behavior from the locals. The young single mother Mandy Dean has trouble finding a home for her and her interracial baby. Soon a brutal murder ensues among the bigotry of the locals and the retuning exboyfriend of Mandy and Foyle must solve it as well as confronting the US army.

Thursday at 8:00pm tune into WETA UK for an encore presentation of Scott and Bailey beginning with season 1 episode 1. A pregnant, teenage Turkish girl covers up a murder as Rachel and Janet begin their relationship of solving murder mysteries. Then at 9:00pm catch the WETA UK season 3 premiere of Vera.

Friday night, spend time with some mysterious ladies. First at 8:00pm catch the new Ladies of Letters. Vera moves to a trailer park and falls in with a very suspicious crowd. Then at 8:30pm Rosemary and Thyme care for an abandoned baby while trying to decipher the death of a well-known artist.  At 9:30pm watch a new Hetty Wainthropp Investigates. Helga Allowby, accused of sending noxious poison pen letters to residents of her village, hires Hetty to prove her innocence in the episode Poison Pen.

Saturday at 8:00pm catch the new episode of Diamond Queen. The Queen wants to modernize the monarchy so Marr is called in to assess what needs to be done. Prince William and Prince Harry talk about their grandmother’s influence on the royal wedding.

Sundays at 9:00pm, the new series Chasing Churchill: In Search of My Grandfather begins. Starting as a Second Lieutenant in the Army, Winston Churchill's life in the public eye was an amazing journey as he rose through the political world to become Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and lead Britain to victory against the Axis powers. Episode one, Wanted Dead or Alive, starting at Sandhurst Military Academy,  which Churchill left in 1894 in search of adventure, Celia Sandys begins her search on the private life of Winston Churchill.
