Filming Begins on ‘Poldark’ Season 2

Everyone who is missing the always dishy Aidan Turner on their TV screens on Sunday nights can breathe a sight of relief – we’re one step closer to Poldark Season 2!

Filming on the period drama’s highly anticipated second outing is officially under way in Cornwall, which means that the odds are high that someone is probably riding a horse across a beautiful countryside backdrop or staring dramatically at the ocean right now.

The BBC announced the start of production earlier this week via Twitter:

The producers at Mammoth Screen also had some Season 2 goodness to share on social media. (And seriously, this photo is adorable.)

Not to be outdone, various other members of the Poldark cast and crew – particularly Heida Reed, who plays Elizabeth - have also been busy sharing various behind the scenes snaps.

The new season will adapt the next two books in author Winston Graham’s series of novels. (Season 1 already covered Books 1 and 2.)

Okay, fine, maybe I’m curious after all to see where this show goes from here. (The cast is just too adorable; I’m not made of stone here.)

Poldark Season 2 is set to screen at some point in 2016 on both sides of the pond. We have recaps of the full first season if you’re behind or just looking for some other fans to chat with.

Are you looking forward to more of Ross, Demelza and Elizabeth next year? Thoughts on what will happen?
