Watch the Trailer for the Third and Final Season of ‘The Fall’

The BBC has released the first teaser for the third season of psychological thriller The Fall, and it’s basically guaranteed to seriously stress you out.

The crime drama stars Gillian Anderson as Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson, on the hunt for uber-creepy serial killer Paul Spector, a normal-seeming married man who secretly stalks and murders successful, young professional women.  Spector is played by 50 Shades of Grey star Jamie Dornan, and is basically terrifying.

The new trailer features Stella going for a swim, and recalling a rather chilling conversation with Spector, where he goes on at length about the god-like thrill he gets from committing murder. We never even see Spector in this all-too-brief clip, but the looming horror of his general existence is palpable.

Though it spoils the ending of Season 2, the new trailer offers basically nothing in terms of hints about what Season 3 is going to be like, or how the series will wrap its story up.

We do know that Merlin star Colin Morgan is set to return as DS Tom Anderson,  along with previous regulars John Lynch, Valene Kane, Emmett J. Scanlan, Stuart Graham, Bronagh Waugh and Aisling Franciosi.

The crime drama first aired in 2013, and became available in full for Netflix subscribers soon after. Season 3 will arrive at some point this autumn, though no exact date has yet been announced.

Are you sad to see The Fall coming to an end? Do you think it’s time to wrap up the story? Got conspiracy theories about Season 3? Let’s talk.
