Happy New Year to All!

Happy New Year, Telly Visions readers! Wishing all of you all the best in 2012 – hoping you have a wonderful year, full of lots of love, laughter, and, of course, some really great British television.

Things I’m particularly looking forward to in the new year? New Sherlock obviously, as well as Downton Abbey’s return, new Absolutely Fabulous after a multiyear absence, and finally getting my teeth into Doc Martin to catch up and get myself ready for new episodes this Spring.

Other things I’m excited to try? The Fades, Merlin Series 4, finally having the time to get into Misfits Series 3, the BBC’s new Great Expectations, a new series of Doctor Who in the Fall, Julian Fellowes’ Titanic miniseries, a new series of Skins, Stella, more Poirot, another series of Upstairs Downstairs, Call the Midwife, Birdsong, and I imagine a bunch of other things I’ve managed to leave off this list or that I didn’t even know existed.  If 2011 was anything to go by, the new year will doubtless bring us some fantastic programs, both new and familiar.

What are you most looking forward to in British TV in 2012?

Lacy Baugher

Lacy's love of British TV is embarrassingly extensive, but primarily centers around evangelizing all things Doctor Who, and watching as many period dramas as possible.

Digital media type by day, she also has a fairly useless degree in British medieval literature, and dearly loves to talk about dream poetry, liminality, and the medieval religious vision. (Sadly, that opportunity presents itself very infrequently.) York apologist, Ninth Doctor enthusiast, and unabashed Ravenclaw. Say hi on Threads or Blue Sky at @LacyMB.
