Need a reason to smile? Then stop what you’re doing and watch this great holiday video.

Many theater stars from all around the world joined forces to perform a cover of the anthem Do They Know It’s Christmas, a song that was originally recorded in 1984 to benefit famine relief. This time, this cover is meant to help raise money for WaterAid, an organization which helps transform lives by helping providing access to clean water and sanitation.

So, you know, absolutely adorable video and a great cause. No reason not to watch.

The clip features appearances by theater ensembles from around the globe, including the UK, Sweden, Germany, the US and more. Shows represented include the casts of Les Miserables, Shrek, Wicked, Sister Act, The Phantom of the Opera, Mojo, Richard II and more.  Even the giant puppet dragon from Shrek gets in on the act.

Keep your eyes out for several familiar faces, including The Hollow Crown’s Ben Whishaw, Downton Abbey’s Brendan Coyle, Harry Potter’s Rupert Grint, Merlin’s Colin Morgan, Doctor Who’s David Tennant and the great Dame Edna herself.

Spoiler: The Tennant bits – complete with his epic Richard II hairdo, terrifying Christmas sweater and amazing dance moves – will pretty much make your day.

I also love how into it the Les Miserables cast gets – they’re even doing the choreography from their show along with the song at one point.

What a wonderful clip! Learn more about WaterAid at their official website here

Lacy's love of British TV is embarrassingly extensive, but primarily centers around evangelizing all things Doctor Who, and watching as many period dramas as possible.

Digital media type by day, she also has a fairly useless degree in British medieval literature, and dearly loves to talk about dream poetry, liminality, and the medieval religious vision. (Sadly, that opportunity presents itself very infrequently.) York apologist, Ninth Doctor enthusiast, and unabashed Ravenclaw. Say hi on Threads or Blue Sky at @LacyMB.
