The end of an era is upon us: ITV has released the trailer for the final season of Downton Abbey.

And it is fantastic.

It is also, as we all probably expected, a veritable five-alarm Kleenex fest, complete with loads of nostalgia, long looks, many repeated meta references to things ending, and the completely unfair use of Time to Say Goodbye as a soundtrack, just in case you weren’t already in a state of complete emotional collapse.

Watch for yourselves:

Downton Abbey | Starts Sunday 20 September

I know there’s a ton of stuff going on in this clip – How fancy does Edith look!? Is Daisy finally going to go live with Awesome Mr. Mason? Why is Anna crying again?! – but the really important thing we have to discuss (read: scream and jump around about) immediately is how many amazing Carson and Mrs. Hughes moments there are in a one minute clip. (Spoiler alert: I am screaming. And assuming we must get to see a Carson-Hughes wedding from that superquick shot of Team Servants in the front row of what looks like a church service? Don’t take this away from me, show. I need it.)

Downton’s last hurrah will begin in the UK this September, and the final season will premiere in the US on Masterpiece beginning January 3, 2016.

If you’re rusty on what went down on Downton last year – or any year other than Series 1 because this blog didn’t exist then – hit up our recaps.

If you’ve got theories on what’s in store for us in the final season, hit the comments and let’s talk about it. Especially if any of your comments involve Carson and Mrs. Hughes because I am here for it
