E4 Promos

Watch: Extended Trailer for the Fifth and Final Series of 'Misfits'

The fifth and final series of teen superhero drama Misfits is set to premiere on E4 beginning October 23 in the UK. It was previously announced in the Spring that this would in fact be the show’s last season, and so everyone’s curious as to how our favorite foul-mouthed, super-powered teens bow out.

The show, which chronicles the adventures of a group of teenagers forced to do community service who also happen to develop extraordinary abilities in the wake of a freak lightning storm, has been something of a cult hit for the network, even though the show underwent a few growing pains during its fourth season last year, after introducing an almost entirely new cast.

The final season looks to be more coherent – and, thankfully, the powers that be behind the scenes were aware that this was the end for the show, and have had time to really wrap things up for its characters. Series 5 kicks off just one year – yes, really, apparently one year in Misfits time equals like five in the real world – after the storm arrived that gave original Orange Jumpsuit Gang of Nathan, Kelly, Alisha, Curtis and Simon their special powers.

The final eight-episode run will feature returning characters Abbey, Finn, Jess and Rudy, but questions still remain. Perhaps, now that the show’s ending, it’s finally time to answer them. Will we finally get an explanation for the storm? Will its effects ever wear off?

The Final Series of Skins Gets a UK Airdate and a Trailer at Last

Finally! More details have been released at last about the final series of E4’s groundbreaking teen drama Skins. The show is set to bow out with three two-hour specials entitled Skins Rise, Skins Fire and Skins Pure that are now officially set to air in the UK in July.

With the broadcast date looming, we’re finally starting to get a proper taste of what the final season will look like – E4 has released the first official trailer for Series 7. Like virtually every other Skins trailer that has come before it, the clip promoting the show’s last hurrah is kind of strange, a bit ethereal and features no actual scenes from the show but has a great soundtrack.

The minute-long clip features returning stars Kaya Scodelario, Hannah Murray and Jack O’Connell and, despite the aforementioned lack of any actual new footage, clearly illustrates the themes being tackled by this final set of episodes now that the teens are young adults dealing with real-world problems. “Time changes everything,” says the new Series 7 tag line.

First Look at Misfits Series 4, New Episodes to Stream in America on Hulu

UK network E4 has released the first trailer for Series 4 of its teen superhero drama Misfits, a show that’s returning after its most successful season to date, but that’s also in for a lot of changes this season after the departure of three key cast members.

The brief teaser features our first look at returning characters Rudy (Joseph Gilgun) and Curtis (Nathan Stewart-Jarrett) alongside newcomers Jess and Finn (played by Karla Crome and Nathan McMullen, respectively). We also see enough to get an idea of what the newbies powers are going to be – Finn’s telekinesis and Jess’ x-ray vision. This is certainly a step up from last season when Curtis’ superpower was to turn into a girl. But the only place to to go from there was up, really, I’d say.

At any rate, take a look at the first teaser for Series 4 after the jump and get some details about when we can expect to see the new season for ourselves. (Spoiler: It’s really good news for every stripe of British TV fan.)

Trailer and a New Cast Photo for Skins Series 6

Skins, E4’s sometimes risqué, often hilarious, and generally compelling drama focused on the lives of a group of teenagers in Bristol, will return for a sixth series in the UK starting January 23.

Created by the father-and-son writing team of Bryan Elsley and Jamie Brittain, Skins’ first season aired in 2007 and the show received both critical acclaim and complaints for its dedication to realistically depicting the issues facing modern teens, including family problems, sexuality, drugs, eating disorders, mental illness, death and, of course, loads of relationship drama. If you’ve only heard of this show via the dreadful American adaptation that appeared on MTV – well, suffice it to say that the original is extra superior in this particular case.
