James Bond

The Full Trailer for ‘Spectre’ is Pretty Awesome Actually (And Andrew Scott is In it!)

The full trailer for upcoming James Bond film Spectre is here and it’s definitely worth the wait.

Stars Daniel Craig, Ben Whishaw, Naomi Harris and Ralph Fiennes are all back for this latest 007 adventure, joined by a bunch of fresh faces, including the clearly villainous Christoph Waltz and two new Bond girls in the form of Monica Belluci and Léa Seydoux.

Spectre will be the twenty-fifth installment in the Bond franchise and, thus far, appears to be director Sam Mendes biggest/most dramatic entry yet - and that’s kind of saying something, after Skyfall – if the trailer is anything to go by. (Mendes has said this will be his last go-round with James Bond in the director’s chair, so it seems he’s aiming to go out on a high note.)

James Bond 24 Will Be Called ‘Spectre’ and Other Details You Need to Know

It’s official: The 24th installment in the iconic James Bond film franchise has a title, a cast, a car and a release date. The film is to be called Spectre and, of course, Daniel Craig is back for his fourth turn as Agent 007 and he’ll be joined by many returning cast members from his last Bond outing, along with, predictably, a bunch of new faces.

Ralph Fiennes will be returning as the new M, along with Ben Whishaw as Q, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny and Rory Kinnear as Bill Tanner. As far as the new folks go, most notably there’s Oscar-winner Christoph Waltz (Djano Unchained), who has joined the cast as a character called Oberhauser. Plus, Guardians of the Galaxy’s Dave Bautista has signed on as Mr. Hinx, and Sherlock’s Andrew Scott is set to play a new MI-5 agent named Denbigh.

Oh, and the new Bond girls for this outing are Monica Bellucci (The Matrix films) and Lea Seydoux (Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol), playing characters named Lucia Sciarra and Madeleine Swann respectively.

They even unveiled Bond’s new car, an especially snazzy looking Aston Martin DB10.

Listen to Adele’s New Bond Theme for Skyfall

Adele, eight-time Grammy winner and artist that generally everyone appears to be obsessed with at the moment, has released her brand new single, which also happens to be the theme to the latest James Bond movie, Skyfall. (By the way, if you weren’t aware, it’s also Global James Bond Day today, so the timing on this is pretty perfect.)

A snippet of the new theme appeared online last week, but you can listen to the full track now. It sounds very much like some of the classic Bond themes from the sixties, which I suppose is appropriate not only for the sort of singer Adele is but also because it’s the fiftieth anniversary of the Bond franchise. Amazing Internet Things: James Bond: Friendship is Magic? Sort of.

So, did you all know that My Little Pony is a thing again? Embarrassing personal confession time: growing up this was totally my favorite cartoon; yet, somehow I only realized that ponies are popular again very recently. The animated series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic kicked off in 2010, but it wasn’t until I went to Comic Con and experienced the phenomenon of “bronies” firsthand (yes, that’s a real thing) that I had any inkling about how big a deal these little animals have become.

What does this have to do with British anything, you may ask? Well, as far as I’m aware, there isn’t a tiny Union Jack pony on the show yet (though there should be!), but this pony-themed mash-up video is far and away one of the most creative things I've seen on the internet in the past couple of weeks, thanks to Anglophenia.

The full trailer for upcoming James Bond film Skyfall – or James Bond 23, if you’re counting – was recently released, and a very enterprising YouTube fan has already managed to create a ponified version of Bond called Skydash using Friendship is Magic footage.

Click through to check out Skydash for yourself, and compare it to the actual Bond trailer. You’re probably going to be surprised by the fact that it’s actually kind of awesome. This should not work at all, and yet, it totally does.

Watch the First Trailer for Upcoming James Bond Movie, Skyfall

When you think of Great Britain, a few iconic images, people and places tend to come to mind instantly – and James Bond is probably one of them. Even people who don’t like spy movies tend to enjoy Bond films – the cars, guns and gadgets are kind of hard to resist. Plus, I have to respect any franchise that’s capable of reinventing itself so many times over so many years (it’s the Whovian in me, I suppose). Skyfall will be the twenty-third installment in the Bond franchise, with star Daniel Craig returning for a third go as the famous spy.

Honestly, I’m really more of a Sean Connery-as-Bond kind of girl, if I had to pick just one, but it must be said that Craig really is a fabulous Bond too. Skyfall also has an all-star supporting cast, including Dame Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes, Javier Bardem, Helen McCrory, Naomie Harris, Albert Finney and Ben Whishaw. Click through for a look at the film’s first teaser trailer, which will probably get you pretty excited for this even if you thought previous effort Quantum of Solace was a hot mess.
