Last Tango in Halifax Series 3

'Last Tango in Halifax' Recap: Series 3, Episode 3

(Editorial note: Sorry for the lack of updates this week - Lacy's been out in San Diego at Comic Con, but expect regular service to resume this week. In the meantime, on to the recap!)

Previously on Last Tango in Halifax: The last week's recap is right this way.

This episode takes us through a roller-coaster of emotions. It starts with a celebration, offers up some reconciliation and a pair of marriage proposals is added to the mix for good measure. Alas, it ends in tragedy. If only it could be different, but this is Last Tango in Halifax so what can you expect?

'Last Tango in Halifax': Series 3, Episode 2 Recap

Previously on Last Tango in Halifax: The Season 3 premiere recap is right this way.

Welcome back and we’re jumping in right where we left off in the last episode of with Alan and his newfound son, Gary Jackson, meeting for the first time. It’s a veritable love fest; Alan feeling like he’s always known Gary from the moment he “clapped eyes” on him, Gary not judging Alan for using his mother in a moment of weakness.

Alan explained about how he’d married Gillian’s mum, Eileen, on the rebound and that when he met Gary’s mum at work she reminded him of his true love Celia. He said they were old enough to know better, and after it happened Mary left so he never knew there was a baby. Alan would like to think if he had been aware he would have done the right thing no matter how difficult.

‘Last Tango in Halifax’ Season 3 Comes to PBS Stations This June

Popular romantic drama Last Tango in Halifax is returning to PBS stations this summer. The third season of the series – which follows the story of an older couple who rediscover their love for each later in life – will begin on Sunday, June 28.

Sir Derek Jacobi and Anne Reid star as Alan and Celia, two childhood sweethearts reunited by the power of Facebook. Nicola Walker and Sarah Lancashire play Alan and Celia’s adult daughters, who both lead rather drama-filled lives of their own.

Season 3 will once again be comprised of six episodes and runs through the beginning of August, airing as part of a three-hour British programming block on PBS that includes the new adaptation of Poldark and World War I medical drama The Crimson Field.

‘Sherlock’ Star Rupert Graves Joins Cast of ‘Last Tango in Halifax’ Series 3

Popular romantic family drama Last Tango in Halifax was renewed for a third season earlier this year (the show’s second run is currently airing in America as we type speak) and production is slated to begin in July. This is all in and of itself very good news for those that love the show, but there’s even more good news to be had.

Sherlock’s Rupert Graves has officially announced that he’ll be part of the cast in Series 3! The actor is best known for his role as the put-upon Detective Inspector Lestrade in the hit consulting detective series, but has also had featured roles in such series as The White Queen, Scott and Bailey and Doctor Who, among many others. Graves will play a man named Gary Jackson in Halifax, but other than his name, we know literally nothing about who this character will turn out to be or who he will interact with on the show. So, start speculating, I guess?
